  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and
    VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

The North Wales Economic Ambition Board is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • The site has some images and graphics which contain text and are therefore not accessible using screen reader software. This fails WCAG Guideline 1.4.5 Images of Text (Level AA). We have mitigated this by including alternative text that describes the image where possible. We plan to phase these images out by Dec 2025.
  • The site uses RECAPTCHA to protect form submissions and prevent spam. The quick link to the RECAPTCHA terms and conditions does not have the correct aria role/label combination set up. The link remains accessible to screen reader and keyboard users but the markup may be confusing. We are unable to change the markup as this is provided by RECAPTCHA but we will review this issue by Dec 2025.
  • The nav submenus contain hidden list items when the page loads, however the container around those list items is visible to screen readers. During testing this didn’t appear to affect functionality but it may be confusing for some screen reader technologies and fails WCAG Guideline 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A) We will review this issue by Dec 2025.

Disproportionate burden

Not applicable. We are not claiming that any of our accessibility issues are disproportionate to fix.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.
