HMP Berwyn Events Connecting Prison Leavers with Opportunity
HMP Berwyn is set to host a series of engagement events this summer, bringing together employers, training providers and support organisations to connect with individuals preparing for release. The programme highlights the prison’s ongoing commitment to improving employment outcomes and supporting successful rehabilitation.
Taking place across June, July and August 2026, the events offer organisations a unique opportunity to engage directly with men nearing the end of their sentences. Each event focuses on a different stage of the journey into employment, from skills development and training through to job opportunities and self-employment.
The Education and Training Information Fair (16 June) will showcase the wide range of training opportunities available to individuals on release, helping them understand the pathways open to them:

The Employment and Opportunities Fair (21 July) will bring together employers from a variety of sectors, with a strong focus on live vacancies and real job opportunities that individuals can apply for as they transition out of custody:

The series concludes with a Self-Employment and Business Start-Up Event (18 August), supporting those interested in becoming self-employed by connecting them with organisations that offer business advice, mentoring and enterprise support:

By working in collaboration with local employers and providers, HMP Berwyn is actively creating stronger links between custody and the labour market. These events are designed not only to showcase opportunities, but to ensure individuals leave prison better prepared, more confident and equipped with the skills and connections needed to succeed in employment.
Organisations from all sectors are encouraged to get involved, helping to build a more inclusive workforce and support positive outcomes for those leaving custody.
