The event honours exceptional learners from across Wales who have demonstrated dedication, talent, and technical excellence in their chosen fields. In North Wales, three learners have been recognised for their outstanding performance in regional competitions:

🏆Best in Region – Mainstream Competition🏆
Beauty Therapy Practitioner (Body) | Evie McManus | Coleg Cambria

🏆Best in Region – Inclusive Skills🏆
Horticulture | Robart Jones | Grŵp Llandrillo Menai

🏆Best in Region – Apprentice of the Region🏆
Aeronautical Engineering | Aiden Hendry | Coleg Cambria

These awards reflect the high standard of skills development taking place across North Wales, with learners, training providers, and employers all contributing to a thriving regional skills ecosystem.

Sian Lloyd Roberts, Regional Skills Manager for North Wales, attended the ceremony and said:

“It was inspiring to see the achievements of learners from across North Wales recognised on such a prestigious stage. Their commitment, passion, and resilience shine through, and they should be incredibly proud of all they have accomplished. We also acknowledge the vital role of employers, tutors, assessors, and training providers who support and guide these learners every step of the way. Their dedication is helping shape a skilled, ambitious, and future‑ready workforce for our region.”

Celebrating Creativity and Sustainable Design

As part of this year’s celebration, students from Ceredigion contributed to the creation of the Best in Region trophies, designing and manufacturing them using recycled materials and a blend of modern and traditional techniques. Their work demonstrates the creativity, innovation, and hands‑on learning that Skills Competition Wales champions.
